Leonid's audacious men's underwear collection The Sexiest Man Alive, stripped down!! (Jul 07)
A NEW BREED OF MEN..
I like it that the first outfit in the video version is called 'Peacock'. Not only is it very apt for that outfit and presentation, it sort of explains the conumdrum that is Leonid.
For many species in the animal kingdom--most conspicuously illustrated by the peacock, and true also in the case of something ferocious like the lion--the male is often the flamboyant, colourful one who flaunts his physical splendour as a display of his masculinity. It is only human tradition that dictates that the female must be the dolled up one and the male is to be dressed down (and even this is not true for all cultures and times)
Leonid's unrivalled expression of all that is strong and beautiful and alluring in how the male human body can move and what it can wear, in no way detracts from his masculinity. He breaks old rules and creates new ones. He is showing men of this and future generations, how they can be extravagantly colourful, exaggeratedly coiffed and exuberantly bodacious, and yet be tastefully, totally and overpoweringly MALE at the same time... Just ask any of his horde of female fans.

Straight-male fan to me:
correct, i see his performance attracting me to him more then the look. yes, again on womens looks, that's the first thing we see but after we see their heart, soul and mind then looks don't matter as much. so if i met a women not appealing to me visually but if we had major connections at those other levels, looks then don't matter. the same true of opposite no connection other then looks would turn me off as well.

Thanks for you very thoughful reply! It really helps me to understand your perspective. Let me see, what you're saying is that it's what Leonid can DO that impresses you, and his looks are secondary. You'd respect Leonid more for his performance skills than you would his potential talents as a model.
I think men in general respect other men based on their 'substance' and only notice their looks in passing if said looks have a noticeable bearing on their success with women! On the other hand men spend far more time appraising women's looks first before they get around to the substance... if ever that is! :)
I suppose this is also true for women. In the sense that although I can admire beauty/sex-appeal in other women, this is really only in the sense of how much 'competition' I'm up against! It's really their 'substance' that matter when it comes to who I'd want to be friends with, who I'd want to let into my life. But I think men's looks are less important to women than women's looks are to men. Don't you agree?
Now I have very little idea how gay men (or gay women) fit into this matrix. What do they appreciate? Looks, substance, musculinity, femininity, everything? There's such a myriad of variety here it's too mindboggling for me to hope to pin it down.
Thanks for your frank feedback. It'll really be useful to Leonid to learn how different people think of him.
warm regards, Yanny (Leonid The Magnificent Fandom!)

there's the difference between men and women and to a certain sense with gay men and straight men. men in general, i think, don't see beauty in other men first off. it's not that i don't see the man but i see the costume first. i sort of see all men looking the same. it's not their looks i see first but their actions i see. i'm not homophobic in any sense. i had to really look beyond the outfits to see the model. i just would think i'd notice the man more if he on the side of a cliff climbing.

Thanks for positive comments on my looks!
As a straight woman I can appreciate pictures of beautiful women and judge them based on artistic value, and think of whether they would be hot for straight men, and then think of whether I'd want to take on that certain look for an effect.
The poll also hopes to reveal how people of different orientations would react to various photos & poses of Leonid's... which is why I gave voters the option to indicate their orientations. (For example I suspect that ladies would get excited over every photo except those 2 of him wearing a bra.. I want to find out if it's true.)
It may also interest straight men to know that Leonid, despite his image being projected of being gay/bisexual/'not sure'/whatever!... ladies just don't care and almost universally can't get enough of him!! Now this is quite the exception when it comes to how women feel about gay men in general. What is it about him that throws out the old rules and creates new ones, that gives this magnetic charisma?? Now that's the mystery about Leonid.
Thanks for taking the time!
